The health and safety of our at-risk community members are MBCERT's focus during this extended period of coronavirus restrictions and health advisements. Beach Cities' At-Risks include senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, and medically compromised persons - essentially anyone at an increased risk for contracting the coronavirus. The City's At-Risk Hotline and volunteers are here to support our at-risk neighbors through these historic times. Work with us, and together we can help flatten the curve. â€‹

OTHER RESOURCES & PREPAREDNESS EDUCATION

"It takes a village," and the At-Risk Hotline has a network of resources to support your Safer-At-Home efforts, such as:

Call the At-Risk Hotline and let us try to connect you with someone who can help.

MASKS, CARDS, FLOWERS, & ACTS OF KINDNESS

MBCERT wishes you to remain free from the coronavirus during the present crisis. Wearing a mask outdoor and distancing are essential to protecting yourself.

Upon request, your assigned MBCERT volunteer will deliver a mask with your next grocery run or prescription pick-up, while supplies last.

Kindness Cards may be delivered too. These are heartfelt, handmade cards by community youth of the National Charity League. Each card contains a message of encouragement and positivity to brighten your day.

OTHER ESSENTIAL ERRANDS

MBCERT wants you to avoid crowds and enclosed public-spaces. Rather than risk your health, call your MBCERT volunteer and ask if they might help with other essential errands. Time permitting, MBCERT volunteers have been known to drop off UPS packages, assist with online orders for scarce items, and more. Clients are encouraged to work with their MBCERT volunteer.

WELLNESS CALLS

Your MBCERT volunteer will call to follow-up and ask if you need any other assistance.

Many clients, especially those that live alone, enjoy a friendly conversation with their volunteer. In fact, these exchanges have grown several new friendships.

MBCERT volunteers are your neighbors. We are here to help.

GROCERY SHOPPING & PHARMACY PICK-UPS

  • Your assigned MBCERT volunteer will call you to get the shopping list or prescription information, and to arrange delivery and method of payment.

  • Masks and physical-distancing are required for both the volunteer and client.

  • Payment may be Cash, Check, Venmo, or Zelle, and paid upon delivery.

  • CERT volunteers do their utmost to complete errands as requested. However, Clients are kindly asked to be flexible if items are unavailable.

  • Clients may call their volunteer to ask for additional errands.
